New Checklist Article - Hair & Makeup

The latest article to be added to the Lissylane Wedding Checklist is all about organising your hair and makeup artists for your wedding day. I actually went against the general advice on my wedding day and didn't worry about having a trial prior to see that I was happy with the style. I've never been one to fuss over my hair all that much so for me it wasn't really important to have a trial done. I do however highly recommend having a trial, especially for your hair style if you are unsure on what you want. Luckily I had found a great inspirational image for what I wanted and knew that my hair could hold curls as I had my hair curled for my school formal.

One thing I want to really stress and that is the time that it takes to have your hair and makeup completed professionally. Even though it was only myself, my maid of honour and mum having our hair and makeup done for the wedding, we had to start at 9 am to ensure we had plenty of time to get to my 2 pm wedding ceremony. We got dressed and ready at my home, so having to take into consideration that it was a 40 minute drive to the ceremony venue sure did put the pressure on. If you have a large bridal party make sure you allow plenty of time on your wedding day for hair and makeup as the last thing you want is to be in a rush on your wedding day.

Overall I was really pleased with the job both my makeup artist and hair stylist did on my wedding day. My makeup was kept very natural, just the way I wanted it (I don't generally wear makeup so I didn't want anything that would make me not feel and look like myself). My hair turned out just as I had imagined.
